Close Encounters at Zoobic Safari

zoobic safariThere’s a new place where you can have close encounters, not with the “third” kind, but with the animal kind. Today, we will discover a really good place to hang out if you’re an animal lover like me. This is the Zoobic Safari; this is the new premium nature theme park of Subic Bay Freeport.

The main attraction in this park is the Tiger Safari where you can see tigers roaming around freely in an area that is enclosed and can only be accessed by riding a vehicle specially designed for seeing this tiger in action. This safari is located in the middle of Ilanin Forest which is in Zambales province near the Morong gate of Subic Bay Freeport. It’s just a 2 hour drive from Manila through North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) exiting to Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) and driving through Tipo Expressway that will lead to Subic and another 10km drive to reach the park.

For adults, a day entrance is about 495 pesos only, for kids it’s about 395 pesos but if your child is 3 feet below in height then it’s for free. You can avail of their 10% discount if you purchase your ticket online. For a single ticket, you can have access to their 11 attractions, which will take you around 2 and half hours to finish. There are also some other amenities that you can avail to make your tour more exciting, the price range are from 50-200 pesos.

zoobic safariWhen you arrived at the park, all visitors are gathered in a place where a tour guide will brief you with instructions on what you can and cannot do inside. The guide also said that we can take pictures of the tigers that are caged there. You can also take pictures of a tiger cub while you are feeding him, that’s one of my favorite parts of the tour. After this, the first part of the tour begins where you can see some farm animals and others that you can only see in the Philippines.

My personal favorite would be the Tiger Safari which is also their main attraction. We are transferred in a jeepney with specially designed cage to protect its passengers.  From there, we drove inside an enclosed area where tigers are roaming around. Visitors can buy dressed chickens that can be fed to the tigers during the trip. It’s also my most memorable experience because that is the first time I see tigers up close, and even see them devouring their prey.

I really recommend this trip especially for kids, because it is both educational and fun.
