As a child, I have always been fascinated with the animal world especially the insect world. Even in my adulthood I’ve always wanted to go to butterfly gardens just to marvel at the one of the most beautiful creations there is for me. That’s why I’m thrilled to tell my story when I went to the Butterfly Garden at Subic.
The Butterfly Garden in Subic is located at Ilanin forest, Subic, near Zoobic Safari. It’s not that far from the Metro because it’s just a 2-hour drive through North Luzon Expressway and SCTex or Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. They offer a Butterfly Garden educational tour that lasts for 1 hour. The tour is available from 8am-5pm every day, but it is advisable to book at least 2 days in advance for your tour. The tour is best for children 6 years old and above and also for young at hearts like usJ. Do not worry because there are guides that you can ask if you have questions.
The entrance fee in the Subic Butterfly Garden is just 50 pesos. For just this cheap fee, you can enjoy these creatures up close and personal, you can even touch them if you want, just make sure that you will be gentle on them because they are very fragile creatures. This butterfly garden is the most famous butterfly garden and breeding farm in the country today. Its land area is 3.8 hectares and is well maintained by their hardworking and dedicated staffs.
Here you can learn the stages of metamorphosis which is the process that butterflies undergo from being an egg to becoming an adult butterfly. This place is best for students’ field trips and even for family bonding. In this way the younger generation will have the knowledge about this beautiful creature and how to preserve them for the next generation. I also liked the Pyramid cages where the butterflies are displayed, it’s like I’m inside a pyramid full of butterflies. They also have picnic areas for guest if they want to stay to eat lunch during their visit. The Butterfly Garden is truly a sight to behold if you are a nature lover and want to enjoy a relaxing weekend with your friends and family.
As I always say at the end of my articles; it’s not enough that you read about a place, it’s best that you see it for yourself. This is definitely not my last visit to Butterfly Garden Subic.
