I must admit that one of my favorite places is Boracay. And oftentimes, when I go to beach resorts, I cannot help but to compare it to Boracay. And after almost a year, I have the opportunity to come back to Boracay, but this time, I and my family went to try Jony’s Beach Resort.
Jony’s Beach Resort is located in Boracay, specifically in Station 1. This area of Boracay is known to be less crowded where you can enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere. But it is not so far from the nightlife that Boracay is famous for, it’s just within your reach, just a short walk to be precise. To get there you have 2 easy options; the first is through Caticlan and the other is through Kalibo. If you choose the first option, you will have to ride a plane from Manila to Caticlan, which will be around an hour, and from Caticlan you will take a tricycle ride for 5 minutes to the port and then a boat ride for 15 minutes to reach the island. If you choose the Kalibo route, it’s less than an hour airplane ride from Manila and when you have landed in Kalibo, you will have to ride a shuttle for an hour and a half and then another 15 minute boat ride to Boracay Island. I prefer the Caticlan route because it is much faster than going through Kalibo.
What I like is the fresh fruit juice they serve when you get there and their room rates are also affordable. They offer a room that is well within my budget range because it is from 5,000 -10,000 pesos only per night and all rooms comes with free breakfast and other inclusions, and children from 0-11 years old are also free. The room was spacious and clean. But the thing that makes Jony’s Beach Resort unique from other resorts is the genuine smiles that will greet you once you entered their resort. I say “genuine” because there are also staff from other resorts that also greet their guests but you can see in their eyes that they are not sincere, and it feels like they only do it because it’s part of their job. To make the long story short, my family stayed there for 2 days and 1 night and it was a great experience staying in their place.
When I travel to other places, most of the time I look for genuine people that are enjoying what they do and loved their work because I believe that this will make your stay there more enjoyable and relaxing.
